TOPIC
The over arching theme of your story. It could be a phrase or a word. |
ISSUE
It is the integral element that must be addressed or a problem (A BECAUSE). Essentially it gives your story substance. |
ANGLE
The angle is the specific point of view, a persons perspective of the issue or topic. |
STORY
A story is comprised of a beginning, middle and end. It will provide details and relate the issue for the audience. |
Using Topic, Issue, Angle and Story is a process to help define "COMPLETE STORY IDEAS".
Students are challenged to identify the type of element that is first presented to them when constructing a story idea. This helps them become flexible when the story changes or isn't there.
The simple task is to provide students any one of the 4 Basic elements of Story Ideas. Then asking them to complete the story idea.
