PHASE TWO
PHOTO JOURNALISM
Photo journalism is a form of photography that many consider to be difficult. A photographer must learn how to analyze and anticipate actions quickly. They must also learn how to capture focused story lines and specific details.
CREATE FOCUS STATEMENT
A focus statement is used to identify the core of the story. It will help you clearly identify who and what. You can create a focus statement by simply using the NOUN, VERB, NOUN format. Be cautious when creating your statement - "is" and other similar words are not verbs or nouns.

STORY BREAKDOWN
Breaking down your story into these eleven elements helps ensure you capture a great visual foundation. Begin with the core 6 elements (Who, what, when, where, why, how) to ensure you cover the essential visuals. Three pictures to cover your story (beginning, middle and end). Finally a portrait and vertical picture to use as a dominant photo in a layout design.
